Fountain Hills is sunny almost 365 days a year; making us the perfect destination for outdoor recreation. Whether you came to jump from sprinkler to sprinkler in our splash pad, or spread out your blanket for a movie in the park we’ve got you covered! Fountain Hills features four different parks for your outdoor recreation enjoyment. Get outside and enjoy any of our parks including; Desert Vista Park, Fountain Park, Four Peaks Park and Golden Eagle Park and play the day away!

Fountain Park

Fountain Park is a 64-acre passive recreation area and anchor to the town center. Built in 1970, the park includes:
  • 29-acre 100 million gallon effluent lake
  • 35 acres of turf
  • An 18-hole championship disc golf course
  • Children’s playground
  • Chilled drinking fountain
  • Parking lots
  • Pump station
  • Restrooms
  • The world famous fountain
  • Various picnic tables and benches
Rules & Regulations
In addition to the standard park rules, there is no swimming, fishing or boating in Fountain Park Lake because the Town uses reclaimed water in Fountain Park. Click here for the splash pad rules and regulations.
Fountain Hours of Operation
The fountain operates 7 days a week, on the hour for 15 minutes from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. On windy days, the fountain may not be operating. If the wind reaches 10 miles per hour, the fountain automatically turns itself off. Sprinklers at Fountain Park have been adjusted to run between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. to accommodate early morning walkers.

Four Peaks Park

Four Peaks Park is a 15-acre active recreation area adjacent to the elementary school. The park includes:
  • 100-foot pedestrian footbridge
  • 18 foot by 24 foot group Ramada with a barbecue
  • 2 lighted basketball courts
  • 2 lighted tennis courts
  • 2 multipurpose ball fields with lights and spectator seating
  • 50 parking spaces
  • 5 chilled drinking fountains
  • 750 square foot restroom/control building
  • Children’s playground
  • Lighted 150 foot by 300 foot soccer field with spectator seating

Golden Eagle Park

Golden Eagle Park is a 25-acre active recreation area adjacent to the Fountain Hills High School. The park hosts numerous activities and leagues throughout the year, including Little League, adult softball, senior softball, high school athletics, and drop-in sports such as basketball, volleyball and tennis. The park includes:
  • 1 small picnic Ramada and 1 large picnic Ramada with barbecues
  • 1 medium size Ramada
  • 2 age appropriate children’s playgrounds, 2-5 and 5-12 year olds
  • 2 lighted basketball courts
  • 2 lighted sand volleyball courts
  • 4 lighted multipurpose ball fields
  • 4 lighted tennis courts
  • A horseshoe pit
  • Restroom Building
  • Shaded picnic area adjacent to the sand volleyball courts

Desert Vista Park

Desert Vista Park has all of the following features:
  • ADA Accessible
  • Dog Park
  • Parking
  • Pavilion
  • Picnic Shelters
  • Restrooms
  • Skate Park
  • Soccer Field
  • Walking Track
Skate Park
Also serving as a large draw for Desert Vista Park is the Skate Park added in late 2006. The Skate Park offers skateboarders, rollerbladers and bikers alike a place to get some exercise with a proposed second phase being considered to extend the facilities.
Dog Park
When it comes to our furry friends we just can’t say no to those adorable faces! The Town of Fountain Hills has been described as one of the most pet friendly towns in the valley! Desert Vista Park is a three-acre fenced facility that allows pet owners the opportunity to let their dogs run free. It is divided into two fenced areas, one for large/active dogs and the other for the small/passive canines.
Dog Park Rules – The following rules apply to Desert Vista Park:
  • Dogs must wear a visible and current license.
  • Dog waste must be removed and properly disposed of.
  • Aggressive dog behavior is not permitted within the facility.
  • Gates must be kept closed at all times.
  • Dog handlers must be within the facility and supervise their dogs at all times.
  • Dog handlers using this facility must carry on their person, a standard (6-foot) length leash.
  • Female dogs in heat are not permitted within the facility.
  • Any damage done to the park (i.e. digging) must be repaired by the dog handlers.
  • Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Dogs must be leashed until completely inside the enclosed facility.
  • All dog handlers who fail to comply with these rules can be asked to leave or be cited if appropriate.
Standard Park Rules
  • Park Hours: 6 a.m. – 11 p.m
  • No alcoholic beverages without a permit
  • No pets without a leash; owners must clean up after pets
  • No vehicles or golfing on turf areas
  • No open fires or overnight camping
  • Do not destroy plants, grass, trees or equipment
  • Vehicles left in park after 11 p.m. will be towed
  • No glass containers
  • No drones
  • No unauthorized vendors
  • Specific facilities may be reserved by obtaining a permit from the Community Services Department at Town Hall 480.816.5100
  • Violators of the law and park rules will be prosecuted
