Prost! It is time for Oktoberfest!

Prost or some may say cheers!  The Fountain Hills Oktoberfest is the first in the Valley to kick off the Oktoberfest season starting on September 29 & 30 from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m. in Fountain Park, Fountain Hills, AZ.


Oktoberfest is a celebration of German traditions with a band flown in from Germany, mouthwatering Brats, Schnitzels, Apple strudel prepared with secret recipes and homemade
potato pancakes cooked on site as well as the famous Pretzels.

The Bier is brewed in Germany.  Choices include the traditional Oktoberfest Bier, Pilsner Dunkel (dark) and König Ludwig’s award winning Hefeweizen.

Attendees can compete for fun and prizes in the not to miss famous Beer Stein holding competition, best dressed Oktoberfest competition and the Alphorn blowing contest.

If running is not your forte, consider being a volunteer!  Organizers of the Craft Classic Half-Marathon are looking for volunteers to help during registration, packet pick-up and day of race support.  The Craft Classic Half Marathon & 5K would not happen without the support from businesses, organizations and people like those in our community, who volunteer before, during and after this fun event. Know that you can support runners as well as Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation by being a volunteer at the 2017 Craft Classic. No experience is necessary to volunteer and there is a wide variety of fun and exciting job choices available. All volunteers receive an official Race Crew T-shirt, fun SWAG and the appreciation of thousands of participants who benefit from their support.

The Fountain Hills Special Event season is right around the corner and we want you to get out of the Valley and into the Hills!


This Fall, Fountain Hills will bring back seasonal favorites like Ballet Under the Stars, Oktoberfest, the Fountain Festival of Arts and Crafts and our 26th Annual Turkey Trot.

However we don’t want you to get too comfortable!  This Fall several new events make their debut such as the Road Runner Sports Craft Classic Half Marathon & 5K.  This event is all about running and beer! You’ll enjoy a well-crafted timed race for brew aficionados of all speeds then you will want to join the fun after party! Quench your thirst at the post-race celebration of your local craft brew scene.
The Road Runner Sports Craft Classic Half Marathon & 5K is a running experience like no other! Presented by Adidas Running and HUSS Brewing, this event features a Half Marathon and 5K distance. Cross the finish at an Epic Craft Brew After Party with Huss!

We are also very proud to welcome back for the second year in a row the CopperWynd Pro Challenge Women’s Tennis Tournament!

The CopperWynd Pro Challenge Women’s Tennis Tournament is a USTA Pro Circuit event, is the largest women’s professional tennis tournament in Arizona and only 1 of 2 women’s professional tennis tournaments in the state.

The field for the CopperWynd Women’s $50,000 Pro Challenge will feature 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. Tournaments at the $50,000 level typically feature players ranked from #100 to #500 in the world.  They are stepping-stones to WTA Tour events and Grand Slam tournaments like the Australian and US Open.

Fourth at the Fountain!

Fourth at the Fountain – A Fountain Hills 4th of July Celebration!


Put on your red, white and blue and join friends and neighbors at Fountain Park on Monday, July 4 to celebrate Independence Day! The celebration will kick off at 6:00pm with music, games, and prizes. DJ Steve Grosz will keep the whole family moving and grooving with great tunes throughout the night. And what July 4 event would be complete without some pyrotechnics? The 4th at the Fountain program will conclude with a majestic fireworks display at 9:00pm over the park’s picturesque lake.

This year, a new event format will be introduced as the entertainment area will be free and open to all event guests. The Fourth at the Fountain program has been designed to be a community wide event open to all. This year attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets to relax and enjoy an evening full of fun throughout the park. Food vendors will also be on hand with Italian ice, frozen lemonade, and other goodies to help you beat the heat.

Food Truck dining options include:

Public parking throughout downtown Fountain Hills will be available. Please note temporary road closures will be in effect at the end of the program to help allow pedestrians to exit the park. Event guests are welcome to bring Frisbees, balls, and other games but to please observe the following:

  • No Glass
  • No alcohol
  • No personal fireworks, sparklers or other open flames
  • Due to the fireworks, we suggest all pets be kept home for their safety

Fountain Hills Music Festival; Three Great Acts In One Evening

Music Fest Poster 2016Arizona weather in the spring is just about as gorgeous as it gets!  So, why stay inside when you can spend the evening at the Fountain Hills Music Festival?

The Town of Fountain Hills invites you to join us on Saturday, March 19, 2016 for an evening of music and fun in Fountain Park!  This one-day event was formerly known as the Fountain Hills Concert Series and has been transformed into a spectacular new, one-day music festival

Several musical acts will perform outdoors, each with its own style and genre.  From electrified strings to country flair, this music festival has something for everyone!  Bring your blankets, chairs, family and friends, and spend the day finding it all in Fountain Hills.    This year’s music fest will also feature food truck dining options from Burgers Amore and Emerson Fry bread.  Water and Ice will also be on site serving up their delicious kettle corn and shaved ice!

4:00 – 5:00pm: Sugar Thieves

The Sugar Thieves have been winning fans over world wide with their high energy, soulful live shows since 2006. Over the years they have honed their brand of American roots music, creating a sound that is all their own. Moving between blues, country, folk, gospel, rock and roll, and elements of jazz, freely they honor the tradition that makes American music so great. 5:30 – 6:30pm: Urban Electra

From the very beginning, Ryan had a passion for all elements of music and performing.  Ryan’s talents developed quickly as he became a skilled, self-taught guitarist, singer and songwriter.  Ryan and his band were named Performer of the Year award at the LA Music/Hollywood Fame Awards in 2007 and 2008.  In 2009 Ryan snatched up Singer/Songwriter of the Year at the Phoenix Music Awards.

Town Tourism Division will Sponsor Hole # 11 at the 2016 Phoenix Open

It’s the Greatest Show on Grass!


It is that time of year again, time for every golf enthusiast to make your way to the “Greatest Show on Grass” also known as the Phoenix Open this February 1-7, 2016.  This year’s festivities are particularly special as the Town’s Tourism Division makes its sponsorship debut at the Open!  Not only does Fountain Hills have a full page advertisement in the Phoenix Open program guide, but Fountain Hills is also the proud sponsor of hole #11!WMPO Town of Fountain Hills


The Phoenix Open festivities begin on Monday February 1 with the practice rounds for the PGA Tour pros.  Tuesday opens with more professional practice rounds followed by the ever popular trick shot show and junior golf clinic.  Wednesday welcomes the Pro Am as well as the opening of the Coors Light Birds Nest entertainment tent.  The real festivities begin on Thursday with the first round beginning bright and early at 7:30 a.m.  Rounds continue through the rest of the weekend.


Adorned on the hole sign for hole #11 patrons to this popular spring sporting event will see the proud logo of the Fountain Hills Tourism Division.  Hole #11 is a par 4 and is 472 yards in length.  Show your pride for the town we know to be the best town in the world and come to the Phoenix Open next week in a show of support for our tourism efforts.  It is tradition for hole #16 to be the most popular but with a little community support we can make our sponsored hole even more popular!

Fountain Hills Celebrates 25 Turkey Trot!

We are celebrating 25 year of trotting! Fountain Hills Department of Community Services would like to invite residents and visitors to take part in the 25th Annual Turkey Trot. To commemorate this anniversary, a new run distance will be added to this year’s event – a 5 miler! So join us on Thanksgiving morning for any of the three trots: 5 miler, 5K Run or 1 Mile Fitness Walk.

Dust off your running shoes and turkey hats, because you and over 1600 pre-registered trotters are gearing up to participate in this year’s 25th Annual Turkey Trot!   This year’s 25th Anniversary Turkey Trot celebration is set to surpass past participation records.  With over 1600 participants already pre-registered, we are set to break last year’s participation record of  1750 trotters!

Do you think you have what it takes to be one of our prize winning turkeys? The top two finishers in both the 5K and 5 Miler in each age division for men and women will be awarded the coveted Golden Turkey trophy. Age divisions will be broken down to 5 year increments. 1 Mile Fitness Walk participants will receive Turkey Trot ribbons.


Are you a last Minute Turkey?

No problem, you can still register on site the morning of the race. Plan to arrive early so staff can be sure to get you signed up and ready to trot. All day-of-event registrations will receive t-shirts on a first-come, first-serve basis. Participants that register on-site are not guaranteed a T-shirt.  To register online please click here!

Packet Pick-up

Early packet pick-up will be offered for pre-registered participants on Tuesday, November 24 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center. Important: No Bib. No Time. Participants must remember to bring their bib or they will not be timed on race day. All pre-registered participants will receive a commemorative Turkey Trot T-shirt. Can’t make it for early pick-up?
Packets can be picked up on race day starting at 5:45 am in the Community Center.
Are you a last minute turkey? No problem, you can still register on site the morning of the race. Plan to arrive early so staff can be sure to get you signed up and ready to trot. Don’t forget that after the 25th Anniversary Turkey Trot 5k Run & Fitness Walk is the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce Thanksgiving Day Parade! Bring your blankets and sit curbside on Saguaro Blvd as many spectacular Fountain Hills floats ride by! This is a FREE event beginning at 9 a.m. Thanksgiving Day morning. See you there!

Advantage In! – Fountain Hills will host Women’s Professional Tennis Tournament

All of us here in the Tourism Division can not contain our excitement because in a mere 3 days the Town of Fountain Hills welcomes the CopperWynd Pro Women’s Tennis Tournament!   Taking place at the CopperWynd Resort and Club, on November 8-15, the Women’s Pro Challenge, a USTA Pro Circuit event, is the largest women’s professional tennis tournament in Arizona and only 1 of 2 women’s professional tennis tournaments in the state. Cliff Drysdale

Let’s show these ladies some Fountain Hills love, no pun intended, by watching and supporting these pros as they compete for the grand prize and move one step closer to the Australian and U.S. Open!

CopperWynd’s inaugural tournament will be the last leg of the Australian Open Wild Card Challenge, in which the American woman who earns the most WTA ranking points at two of the three chosen USTA Pro Circuit events will receive a wildcard to compete in the Australian Open main draw. “It is very exciting to host a tournament in this series,” says Scott McCulloch, VP of Operations for Cliff Drysdale Tennis Management and the CopperWynd Pro Challenge Tournament Director. “The CopperWynd Pro Challenge will provide spectators with a chance to see these up and coming players in an intimate setting and then cheer for them at the Grand Slams.”

Until now it has been tradition for the annual appearance of the “Ballet Under the Stars” Fountain Hills performance to be on a Thursday night, but that is all about to change.  This year’s performance will move from Thursday night to Friday October 2.

Join us for a relaxing evening under the gorgeous Arizona sky as Ballet Arizona continues its annual season opening tradition with “Ballet Under the Stars”.  Free and open to the public, “Ballet Under the Stars” allows Arizona communities to enjoy dance in a unique outdoor setting complete with a stage, lighting, costumes and beautiful Arizona weather. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a varied program, ranging from classical to contemporary. Fourth at the Fountain; A 4th of July Celebration!

On July 4, 2015 we celebrate the 239th anniversary of our American Independence, and what better way to show our American pride then with an outdoor celebration of our freedom!  Ordinary 4th of July festivities consist of BBQ’s, floating in the pool, rocket pops and of course a fireworks display, but Fountain Hills is no ordinary community and you can bet that our Fourth at the Fountain celebration isn’t either!  Begging the question; what do parachutes, water slides, rock walls, and fireworks all have in common?  All of those, and much more, will be featured at the Town of Fountain Hills Fourth at the Fountain event!

Our one of a kind community is putting on a one of a kind event with food, fun, fireworks, and of course, our World Famous Fountain!  Fourth at the Fountain festivities will also include: live DJ, a patriotic parachuting demonstration, bounce houses, a beer garden, food and beverages, and last but not least, a fireworks show starting at 9:30 p.m. over our World Famous Fountain!  This year we also welcome the addition of water slide and a 25 foot tall rock climbing wall to the kid’s area.  The event will take place from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. in Fountain Park.
