The Mesquite Hollow Trail is one of the favorite trails in the Fountain Hills McDowell Mountain Preserve. Named for the nearly 100 year old Mesquite tree located on the trail just beyond the spur, this newer trail receives rave reviews from hikers and is a fine example of trails hand built by Sonoran Conservancy of Fountain Hills Trailblazers.
This will be a 5.1 mile moderately difficult hike at a moderate pace. We will follow the Promenade Trail to the Mesquite Hollow Trail and return to the trailhead via the Lower Sonoran Trail.
Bring 2 liters of water and snacks. Wear a hat & sturdy boots; hiking poles recommended. No dogs, please.
