Can you spot the landslide? Join us to learn about the geological forces that came together to create the second largest landslide in all of Arizona. You will see strange rock formations along with fabulous scenic views while imagining the sights and sounds of the power of this massive reshaping of the McDowell Mountains.
This moderate, 4 mile hike begins at Tom’s Thumb Trailhead in Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Preserve. It will take about three hours, including multiple stops, on rolling terrain. Carpooling will be available from the Fountain Hills Library/Museum parking lot.
Bring 2 liters of water and snacks; wear a hat and sturdy hiking shoes or boots. Hiking poles recommended. No dogs, please.
