The Mesquite Hollow Trail is one of the favorite trails in the Fountain Hills McDowell Mountain Preserve. Named for the nearly 100-year-old Mesquite tree located on the trail just beyond the spur, this newer trail receives rave reviews from hikers and is a fine example of trails hand built by Sonoran Conservancy of Fountain Hills Trailblazers.
This will be a 5.1 mile moderately difficult hike at a moderate pace. We will follow the Promenade Trail to the Mesquite Hollow Trail and return to the trailhead via the Lower Sonoran Trail.
Bring 2 liters of water and snacks. Wear a hat & sturdy boots; hiking poles recommended. No dogs, please.
